A. The Maltese Islands – which consist of Malta, Gozo and Comino are located in the centre of the Mediterranean, 93 kilometers from the Italian island of Sicily.
Q. How do I get to Malta?
A. The best way to get to Malta is by air.

Q. What happens if my visa is refused?
A. If an entry visa is not granted and the School is informed 8 days or more before the enrolment start date, a full refund, less the registration fee, bank charges and courier fees (if applicable), will be sent to the student. If the School is informed 7 days or less before the enrolment start date, a cancellation fee, equivalent to the cost of one week (course, accommodation, registration fee, airport transfers, etc) bank charges and courier fees (if applicable), will be charged. In both cases, evidence of visa refusal is to be sent to the School.
Q. Do I need insurance for Malta and if yes, can you help me?
A. Travel/medical insurance is not obligatory but it is recommended. We offer an international student insurance – please go to the ‘Other Services / International Student Insurance’ page for further information.
Q. Am I entitled to medical care?
A. If you are an EU/EEA national you are entitled to receive medical care in Malta on presentation of your European Health Insurance Card (E111).
Q. How can I get medical help?
A. Malta enjoys a high standard of medical care. Hospitals are modern and supported by a regional network of health centres. Clubclass has a doctor available for its students on call, who will visit them at their accommodation. Students will need to pay the doctor directly and then claim a refund from their health insurance (if available).

Q. Is Malta safe?
A. Malta is a safe place and the crime rate is extremely low.
Q. Is Malta expensive and what currency is used?
A. The cost of living in Malta is considerably lower than in neighbouring European countries and the currency used is the Euro.
Q. What languages are spoken in Malta and why should I come to Malta to learn English?
A. The official languages are Maltese and English. Maltese is a language of Semitic origin written in the Latin script, which over the centuries has incorporated many words derived from English, Italian and French. As a former British colony, English has been an important language for all Maltese people for over 150 years and although Malta is an independent nation and posses its own mother tongue, the everyday use of English language remains – it is used daily in business, politics, education, arts and most importantly conversation.
Q. Can you meet me at the airport and arrange a taxi to my accommodation?
A. Yes, if you would like us to organise airport transfers for you, these can be arranged at a charge of Eur 40.00 (return), in which case we ask you to kindly send us your flight details at your earliest convenience (flight number and arrival time) so as to organise everything accordingly.

Q. Will I be able to travel around Malta easily?
A. The public bus service is a good means to get around the island, as buses serve the major tourist areas and are cheap and efficient. There is a public bus stop just across the road from Clubclass which makes it very convenient to travel around.
Q. Do I need to rent a car?
A. Renting a car is a good option if you would like to get to the farther reaches of the island. Driving is on the left and all the road signs are in English. Leading and local car hires are located around the island and accept international driving licenses.
Q. Can I work part-time in Malta or have a work experience?
A. Employment in Malta is subject to an employment license issued by the local authorities. It is much easier for students from the EU and Switzerland to get an employment license.
